Toril and Julie in Disneyland!

Yes, I am way behind schedule with my blogging here, but we have been busy doing cool stuff, so I haven't quite had the time to write. On Wednesday we went to Disneyland. I had chacked in advance what day which days that had firework shows, and the website said that every day this week, the park would be open between 8 am and 12 pm and that there would be fireworks every day! But when we arrived in the park it was only open until ten pm, and there were no fireworks! Oh, agony! Well, the girls where brave and said it was ok, and we had a lovely day anyway!

Norwegian version here!

The obvious first thing to do: Pose in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle! In T&J-style, of course!

Sea World and Stuff

So we've reached Tuesday in Toril and Julie's winter break in California. We've done a couple of fun things since the last post, but yesterday we had a resting day, and today we're going shopping before three days of hardcore sightseeing starting tomorrow with Disneyland!

Norwegian version here.

Sunday the four of us went to Sea World in San Diego. I loved it, and I think our guests liked it too! I have never seen killer whales before, and it is amazing what they can make the animals do! There were also a lot of awesome animals! You can get in the right and fishy mood by pressing this link:

Day 2 - Balboa

Hi everyone! I'm just setting the mood for this blog post with Katy Perry's California Gurls. You can choose if you want to watch the video or if you just wanna use it as background music while reading. The reason for me posting it is that we heard it on the radio while driving yesterday, and it's been stuck on my mind ever since.

So yesterday we went to Newport Beach. First stop was the Balboa Fun Zone where we tested the Ferris wheel. You can read about a previous trip to the Balboa Ferris wheel here. And a Norwegian version of this post can be found here

On their way around the wheel.

Appelsinslang, anyone?

Pink Cherry Blossoms

It's February, so of course the cherry trees are in bloom! Are they cherry trees by the way? Theyt look like it to me, but it could be another pretty tree for all I know. I didn't know that the trees started blooming this early, but apparently they do. The flowers have even started falling to the ground. It's almost like being in a Japanese garden. I went for a walk with my camera, and here are some of the results. This is in our neighbourhood.

Sunset Beach And Other Weekend Activities

This weekend has been really nice! We started out with a relaxing movie night on Friday, and saw among other things the first episode ot Sherlock. We both liked it a lot, so now we're hooked on that show too, I'm afraid. I don't suppose we'll ever run out of series to watch. Before watching Sherlock we finished the last episode of Downton Abbey. We can hardly wait for season 3 to come! We love it!

By the way, if you want to read this blog post in Norwegian, you can do that here

Saturday morning we went jogging and did a couple of strengthening exercises afterwards. And patted ourselves on the shoulder of course. Then we went to Sunset Beach. Some of you might remember Aaron Spelling's flop of a TV show bearing the same name? Ok, so this is where that series supposedly took place! It's a beautiful beach surrounded by nice houses. We enjoyed the sun and waited for the sunset. As California residents (read: tourists) we are of course "collecting" beaches.  They lie at the coast like pearls on a string! We want to see all of them.

Karl Yngve in front of the nice houses. I think we would have enjoyed living there, to be honest!

Me greeting the sun!
